Computerized Auto fill with gravity drain
(not available with every model)
Never think about your water level again.
Water features lose water to evaporation, and keeping the level topped off is the single most important thing you can do to protect your pump. The Auto Fill upgrade handles it for you.
Water sensors inside the feature continuously monitor the level. When it drops, a small control box opens an electric valve and draws water from a dedicated supply line until the level is restored. It's fully automatic and requires no attention from you.
Why it matters: The most common cause of pump failure is running with the water level too low to keep the pump submerged and cool. Auto Fill removes that risk entirely. It's especially valuable for larger features, dry climates, features in hard-to-reach locations, and commercial installations where no one is assigned to check the level.
What to plan for:
- A dedicated water supply line run to the feature by your plumber or contractor.
- A location for the control box. On many of our features the box conceals neatly within the feature itself. Smaller features don't have the interior room, so the installation needs to accommodate it nearby — inside the wall, in an adjacent room, or another accessible spot. Plan this before installation begins.
- An approved water source. Salt-softened (ion-exchange) water CANNOT be used. A water feature is a recirculating closed system: as water evaporates, dissolved solids stay behind and concentrate, eventually this can lead to corroding the pump and structural components. Filtration is recommended but not required — we prefer a high-quality, high-capacity RO system. Your plumber supplies the filtration; we'll tell them exactly how it needs to be sized to work with the Auto Fill.
Automatic level control, plus a built-in safeguard.
The drain gives the tray a dedicated discharge path, so if the water level ever rises past where it should, the excess flows safely to drain instead of overflowing.
It also makes water exchange practical. Rather than only replacing what evaporates, you can periodically drain some volume and let the Auto Fill refill it — keeping dissolved solids from concentrating over time and extending the life of your feature.
What to plan for: Because the drain is gravity-fed, the discharge point must sit below the feature. Your plumber will route the line as part of the rough-in.
Still simple to maintain. Auto Fill takes care of the daily work, but we still recommend draining and wiping the liner about twice a year, and glancing at the water level now and then to confirm everything is running as it should.
